Brown Bag Auction

If your are bringing a brown bag auction item, you should put it in a bag or box. It would be nice it you were to write something on the outside that is a "hint" as to what the bag/box contains.

Dock Box & Bilge Sale / Brown Bag Auction...What's the Difference???

We have been asked what the difference between the Dock Box & Bilge Sale and the Brown Bag Auction is or are they one and the same thing. No, they are not the same thing. However they both will take place Friday evening at the Rendezvous.

The Dock Box & Bilge Sale will take place between 5:00pm and 6:30pm. This sale is a person to person exchange of money for sale item. LMCA is not a part of the transaction and receives no part of the money. LMCA does not collect the money but rather the buyer pays the seller directly. This is an opportunity for you to dispose of serviceable equipment or on the other hand, obtain used equipment. Sellers should mark their items with their name and the price they are asking.

The Brown Bag Auction will take place after the conclusion of the Shrimp Boil. Money received for the auctioned items will be retained by the Association for the LMCA Youth Sailing Scholarship Program. This is NOT a White Elephant Sale. Items should be good & serviceable but not necessarily boating equipment. Another way of saying it would be, if you spent good money for an auction item would you be happy to open it and find a souvenir glass from Cedar Point? Bring nice items and let's raise a goodly sum of money for the Scholarship Program.
